As the most important home of Cretan history, the museum contains exhibits from all ages including the Neolithic period right up to Roman times. As you walk through the museum's 27 exhibits, make sure you take a look at the collection of Minoan art.

Originating from a period of Cretan history, named after the mythical King Minos, these incredible paintings provide a fascinating insight into society at the time. Before leaving the building, take a moment to appreciate its incredible architecture. Built in the late 1930s, the museum makes brilliant use of natural light, seen as the sun shines through the skylights and onto the exhibits below.
