Marrakech Nightlife

Many people visit Marrakech to explore the bustling old city, but the hip nightclubs in Marrakech are another major draw for tourists who want to party with the in-crowd. The city's clubs showcase the best local DJs as well as attracting international acts fresh from playing Ibiza and other major clubbing hotspots. Marrakech is also building a reputation for itself as the host of top international electronic music festivals, like the Oasis Festival.

Let your hair down in the best nightclubs in Marrakech

You'll find a choice of premier nightclubs in Marrakech. One of the most famous is Theatro. Housed in a former casino in the El Saadi Palace Hotel, this club is open every night. There's a live show with acrobats, jugglers, and fire dancers. Resident and guest DJs keep the crowds dancing until the early hours.

Marrakesh also has its own branch of Pacha, the international mega-club. Located around 10 minutes south of Djemaa el Fna square, this huge club has room for 3,000 revellers, though you'll discover it's normally packed.

555 Famous Club Marrakech is another large club with space for up to 2,000 party-goers to enjoy themselves. There's a very large dance floor with guest and resident DJs playing House, RnB, and HipHop every night of the week. Jugglers, acrobats and dancers keep the crowds entertained and ensure you'll have an unforgettable evening.

If it's decadent interiors you're after, head to Comptoir. Located in the Hivernage Hotel, it's close to the main station and the medina and souks. Inside this Art Nouveau villa, you can relax on cushions out in the courtyard or sit back and watch the belly dancers do their thing.

The Mariinkski Marrakech is another deluxe Marrakech nightspot, dripping with crystal chandeliers and opulent Arabic décor. If you're planning to make the nightclubs in Marrakech part of your holiday plans, don't forget that most don't open until 11pm or midnight.

Don't worry though, there are plenty of glam cocktail bars across the city for drinks first. Head to the Gueliz area and seek out a rooftop bar to enjoy the balmy evenings al fresco before continuing the night in a club.

Festival time

Marrakech nightclubs are now firmly established on the summer techno festival scene, with Ibiza regulars flying in to play sets to huge crowds. The Oasis Festival is the biggest, located on the outskirts of Marrakech. It attracts a sophisticated crowd looking to party in the sunshine with artisan cocktails beside a palm-fringed pool. There's a healthy dose of yoga and surfing thrown in too.

Chill out time

After a heady night on the tiles, swap the dance floor for the spa and relax. Hammams (steam baths) are part of the Moroccan way of life and you'll find them dotted across the city in hotels and back streets. Soothe aching limbs that have been partying hard with a special treatment, or just wallow in the warmth of the water while you plan the next evening's entertainment.
