Getting around Hisaronu

By dolmus: The local mini bus service, called dolmuses, operate throughout the resort for easy transport to the beach or your hotel. There are a number of stops throughout the resort, and many head further afield to nearby resorts like Fethiye and Ölüdeniz.

By taxi: There are plenty of taxis around, and they’re an affordable way to make short journeys. Licensed taxis are yellow and run on a meter. They can be flagged down from the road, although do bear in mind taxis charge more at night.

On foot: Hisaronu is a compact village and easy to get around on foot if you want to avoid public transport.

Events in Hisaronu

For art lovers: Fethiye’s Culture and Arts Festival is one of the biggest events in the region. For four days, Fethiye acts as host to local artists, bands, musicians, writers, photographers and actors. Venues across the town showcase a variety of performances, workshops and exhibitions.

Spring festival: The Marmaris Maritime and Spring Festival is one of the most hotly-anticipated celebrations. Taking over Marmaris in May, the Spring Festival transforms the resort into a hub of creativity, with something different happening on almost every street! Expect sporting competitions, live dancing, dog shows, and even a sandcastle-building contest down on the main beach!

Temperature: Average of 25-29°C in summer.

Best time to visit: April and May are ideal for plenty of sunshine before the temperature heads into the 30s in high summer.

If you’d like to get some sightseeing under your belt, but without the sweltering temperatures, book your break during the spring or autumn months. Between March and May and September and November, the mercury hovers in the 20s (°C) and the crowds are fewer.
